whats I am doin right now
Well I will tell you what I am up to and have been up to.
For a month i was in southern utah roasting in 44 degree weather, filming for my segment for new world disorder.
I was pretty pumped on the filming that I got done since it was mostly big mountain riding which is m favorite type of riding. We even brought the helicopter out and filmed a teaser for the red bull rampage on the obvious ridge lines on the course, with paul bas and robbie bourdon good times i tell ya.
So then i came back to the northwest and went for a little fish trip with me girl. Immediately after my fish trip I hopped on a plane for a friends wedding in vegas. Then came to the French alps to compete in 2 competitions.
The first was the chattel mountain style, which was really nice to see that the course was not a buffed out slope style, like I was expecting, but rather a gnarly course built on the hillside with drops and jumps boulders everywhere, steep gnarly lines with rock rolls and some ladder bridge stuff as well.
The only problem with that was I brought the wrong bike, a 4 inch slopestyle bike with 6 inch rotors and air shocks.
I managed to ride my small bike through the gnarly stuff but still ended up in 2nd since my bike malfunctioned at the last jump and bucked me weird prohibiting me from tricking the last jump yah yah ill stop whining now.
Then from there I rode the trails around chattel and man the riding over here in the alps is awesome. Not to mention every hill has a chairlift on it that has the capability to carry bikes.
With hundreds of miles of trails that vary from steep and rooty to a-line style trails, its hard not to have fun.
So now im in this crazy town in france called avoriaz.
The town is built on a mountain ridge high in the alps, the contest is called roof n style and that is exactly what they got goin on here is a course built on and off rooftops.
So of course now this course is a hard tail course so once again I have the wrong bike baaa im bringing all my bikes next time but the only thing is that it will not stop raining and we are supposed to practice today. Anywho ill keep ya posted

darren just to let u know your biking style comes across very well on film,not an easy feat i can tell you,keep up pushing yourself to the edge, in originality,you are living the boyhood dream!mine anyway!keep safe from rogue bears

i ride a demo just like yours but with worse parts :( and i really!! want a SX but dont have the money right now. thinking of heading to utah aswell.
i cat wait until you new world disorder 10 segment comes out although i can allready tell its gona be sick!!
wish i had the money to ride the sick tracks around the world like you do chatell sounds AWESOME! anyways thanks for being you and being AWESOME
Just wondering have you ever been to New Zealand? if you havent you have to come and go to Rotorua!

Weathers not been that good here in the Alps for the competitions eh? Supposed to dry up for Roof n style tomorrow though – hope it’s not too slippy on them roofs today! We’ll be there tomorrow anyway, good luck

For sure the sx trail is a better bike for “big mountain slopestyle” like the Chatel Mountain Style!!!Bring the big bike for next year.Thanks for keeping “Mountain” in Mountain Biking !!!
